Pine Kernels are a perfect accompaniment to most salads. They have a firm feel to the bite and can often taste a little fatty or oily with an occasional bitter aftertaste. They can be eaten as a raw addition to many foods or can even be added at the ingredients level, sometimes with the addition of a cooking stage to help add flavour to meals.
Our Roasted Pine Kernels have a dark brown appearance. The roasting process gives them an intense nutty aroma and a sweet flavour when eaten. The roasting process helps remove excess oil and waters from the nut and so they can also have a sharper bite to them when compared to normal Pine Kernels. They are used in much the same way, as an addition to salads and can even be eaten on their own as a snack.
